Once again, Satenik, an awesome recap of a very upsetting council meeting. I cheered each and every speaker, all of whom were well spoken and well researched and made excellent points and suggestions. And then Jonathan Meijia saying exactly what we were all thinking: what was the point of the pointless exercise of the public comments section when the Mayor and council have proven many times over that whatever residents have to say falls on deaf ears. Whatever is on the agenda is a done deal. Only 2 people on that dais are listening. Well, more and more of us are paying attention.
Maybe they want everyone to stop? I can tell most of the people who have been showing up and speaking up will continue to do so and more will show up as more and more non "misinformation" that comes from Mundell's precious and overpaid PR firm comes out!

I recently renovated the house and did a bunch of work, both inside and outside, to help flood-proof it and reduce the amount of runoff into the sewer system. I hope to eventually work with the town to incentivize this type of work in this neighborhood. Let me know if you want to chat! Cheers

First off, I really enjoyed your piece, and I appreciate all the effort you put into these comments and meeting recaps.
We're in North Jersey, a Democratic stronghold in a Democratic town. I've slowly accepted that at the town, county, state, and federal level, everything is just going to get substantially more expensive while services get worse. It's the worst of both worlds.
My biggest takeaway as a former Democrat is that Democrats don't do systems thinking. It's impulsive. Cut this, give that away, with no recognition that things are interconnected. You can see it everywhere. Look at New York City with Mamdani; that's going to be a disaster. Without systems thinking or an understanding of consequences, things just keep getting more expensive and services keep getting worse.
I was a Democrat for 28 years, and I never once heard a Democrat mention continuous improvement, innovation, making things run better or faster, or cutting costs. It's just not how the brain works over there. You'd never run your household finances or a business this way.
Either way, it's kind of fun to watch. Enjoyed your write-up.

This Sewer fee poses a substantial financial burden on seniors, who are particularly susceptible to financial pressures.
